Drusti(R) - Vision for better tomorrow(N G O)

“Drusti-Vision for better tomorrow” means the way in which one looks at the world; this can also be called as a particular outlook. Drusti looks into society not with compartmentalized structure, but holistically. In other words, from Drusti’s point of view, different stake holders will have to play an active role to bring convergence, complimentary fort, the overall development of the society and nations. The different stake holders implies vast masses of poor, marginalized different civil society organizations, the government department, and the governments, the elected representative bodies, the corporate sector, and the political parties.
When the whole world is changing together with rapid changes in the ground realities, understanding the context by proper situational analysis and need based approach by bringing about collaboration among different stake holders, adhering to the principle of equity and justices is the most urgent task. This in fact is the biggest challenge for just born “Drusti”.

Santhosh kodenkeri (Founder/Gen.secretary):
It has been my sincere effort to start an institution where in, I wanted to use, my energies and talents with the help of different sections of people as a team effort. During the past 3.5 years, I had the experience of working with media, collaborating with corporate sector, Linking with other N.G.O’s, working with consultancy firms like DSI (development support initiative) and working at the grass root level. My Dreams got materialized with the formation of Drusti with the perspective of bringing together different stake holders such as people organizations, NGO’s CSO’s media, government department and people representatives to work for a common cause. For the past 3 years a few small initiatives have been taken up such as health camps, blood donation camps, and tree planting, distributing books, uniforms to the needy students, cloth distribution, and production of some documentary movies etc.
In order to carry forward the initiatives already began needs much more co-operation from different stake holders, including the public. I hope to approach together with my team, different stake holders for their valuable guidance, monitory and moral support. Your small help will not only encourage to carry forward but also will help us to make a big jump from the present leap step.

Late.Dr. M.K Bhat (Advisor):
Drusti a new born NGO (Non Government Organization), with the enthusiasm , initiative and commitment to save the society and the nation has all the elements of the capacity to face the challenges today’s developing world has brought in. Asia is a region of mass poverty, which accounts for the highest number of poor in the world. When the “Drusti” born, India was the fastest developing nation in Asia under Globalization. Globalization has helped India to have better economic position visa-versa developed countries. The gap between the rich and the poor has been widening. The benefit of development has not been reaching to the poor and marginalized. The reason for this is the structural causes of poverty.
Without addressing structural causes of poverty through various means, such as promoting organization of poor, improving their livelihood and influencing the policies in the favor of poor, real impact on poverty cannot be achieved. In India there are thousands of NGO’s with FCRA NO, and lack of other NGO’s registered as trusts or society .However they are all scattered and not coming together to address a common cause. It is hoped that “Drusti” although new born will contribute in its own way to bring together to influence the policies of the government and favor of the poor. In the society which is divided by different casts, ethnicity, religions, regions and languages “Drusti” has to give attention to most deprived and excluded communities.

Drusti has to use media to a maximum extent, in order to bring the burning and real issue to the public notices. There by creating a public awareness and putting democratic pressure on the government system to make them more accountable and transparent.
During my past 40 years of political and social experience, I have come across many good and also bad NGO’s throughout the world. I only hope Drusti by following unique approach will become a model worth replicated by others.
